Gauteng Heatwave News Today

Certain parts of South Africa are currently dealing with a heatwave. Here is how you can protect your pets and ensure the heat doesn't make their lives miserable.

Continuing from last week, temperatures in Gauteng are still expected to spike on Monday, with the South African Weather Service saying residents will likely only get some respite on Tuesday.

The hot weather conditions were set to end this weekend, however, the weather service said Gauteng residents will have to contend with the heat for a while further.

The weather service said very hot temperatures in many parts of the province are expected to run from Thursday to Sunday.

The South African Weather Service has issued a heatwave warning across the province, with temperatures in Pretoria expected to reach 35 degrees.

SAWS forecaster Wayne Venter said temperatures are expected to hover in the mid-30s this weekend.

There may be a need to extend the heatwave alert currently causing scorching temperatures across the province, and KZN.

The South African Weather Service consequently issued a weather advisory, indicating that heatwave conditions could be expected to persist

Joburg Water attributed the shortage to the heatwave experienced across many parts of the Gauteng province in late September and early October.

Extremely hot conditions are affecting Gauteng, the North West, Free State and KwaZulu-Natal and people are cautioned to stay hydrated.
