The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal is proud to announce 12 winners of this year’s Fire Prevention Poster Contest. 

Harper Flores, a Northwestern High senior and chicken farmer, donated 73 fertilized eggs to students at Gorrell Elementary School.

The district will be responsible for about 67% of the total $45 million cost.

The Independent MASSILLON – Enjoying the warm sun, Kasey, Kali and Karmel rested on a red rug spread on the playground at Gorrell Elementary School. Curious students pointed and oohed and aahed as they saw the visitors. The black Labs were at the school with their owner Jeff Owens to teach fire and life safety.
