matchup trump kills jeb bush 56% to 37%. but ben carson beats trump by the same margin, 55% to trump 36%. what are we to make of that, guy? it s the summer of the outsiders. people cannot stand what s happening in washington. they are uneasy about what s happening in the country. much of the blame, i think, rightly, is placed on the political class. which is why you have people like trump surging. his message is resonating. ben carson is in the same boat. you noticed a shout out from donald trump to carly fiorina who has now made it into the debate. another outsider. especially the head-to-head with jeb. the bush campaign has been pushing back. there has been a war of words between trump and bush. i think trump now is getting the better of the fight. i have a lot of issues with jeb bush and concerns about his viability. he has so much money. one of them is not fluency in spanish. speaking to voters who speak spanish in their language is not
can t buy. he is running as an independent man. a republican, but out there saying i m going to do the right thing for the country, make the country great again. it s a very simple message and it s really working. i think, just on the part of the polls, gretchen, what s amazinge digits dropping down, and christie out of the race, paul out of the rate, perry out of the race. you have had this collapse of the more establishment candidates. that s profound and i don t know that they can get back up again. i don t know at this point. it will be interesting to seeker but ten second. why does carson beat donald trump handily? i don t think well know yet and we have to watch this playout, and it s early, and trump is continuing to gain spring his ceiling is getting higher and hyper deeper into the race. we said on this show, this is the year over the nonpolitician. we ll have to see if that continues to play out. guy and simon, thank you so much. thanks. we ll have more on the trump
be paid for by special interest groups. i want to remind everyone that i m not taking any of that money. that s a huge line for him. in every speech he gives, in every press availability he gives, when he gets to the point that he s self-funded and that others are taking money from lobbyists and they re affected by the money and he used to be the guy who was paying the money to have the influence but this race he is self-funding. he always gets an applause line. he even got one today, people applauding that. he counters anybody who is running negative ads against him by saying they re being funded by all these people that want to have influence. it s a powerful message. so have we ever seen before, because before we went to trump we were talking to you about i was getting to the question about how maybe polls and the way we ve done politics is going to be totally different this time around. and donald trump is one of the reasons. but have we totally gotten to a new way where he s
tom brady? well, i m tom brady is a very good friend of mine. he is a great guy, for those of you that don t know him. he is a very honorable and honest guy and a truly great athlete. he is really a very good friend of mine. i just spoke to him a little while ago. he is so thrilled and happy. tom brady, i think what they ve done is terrible. and he has been exonerated, as i understand it, because i just heard about it. but i m very happy for tom. as far as the commissioner is concerned, they re having a rough year. let s face it. they re having a very rough year. yeah. go ahead. [ inaudible question ] in europe they have tremendous problems with people going in and storming. it s a huge humanitarian problem. i just say this. the united states has tremendous problems of their own. we have infrastructure that we have to fix. we have bridges and roads and tunnels and everything is falling apart. our nation is in such trouble.
something we ought to be attacking. simon, before you comment on that, i want to play this other sound bite from donald trump today about spending his own money because i think this is a huge thing for him. listen to this. those people that are putting up those millions of dollars have total control over your candidate. i will tell you this. nobody is putting up millions of dollars for me. i m putting up my own money. i m [ cheers and applause ] in fact, i feel a little bit foolish. people are offering me millions and millions of dollars. you know, when you re in first place, you can collect so much money. and i keep turning them down. all right. simon, first of all, he also went on to say that just just so you know, jeb bush is going to come after me with negative ads. but just remember that all those are paid by lobbyists and, you know, other kinds of groups, not his own money. i want you to comment on that and ben the ben carson thing. he s running as a guy you
