the consistency of donald trump. it is entirely possible he will lose a few primaries and then say you know that stuff i said before? no longer operative. we keep counting him out. you remember when he insulted mccain. he vowed. then he made controversial statements about the border. he s out! he keeps coming back stronger but no one has voted yet. the vote is the important thing. no one knows how many votes he will get and the votes are what counts. if he doesn t win, he could choose to go independent. there s no glory in being the independent candidate. you don t win as an independent and he only wants to win. unless he truly hates the nominee. then he might just to spite them. but then he would be a villain. he doesn t want to be a villain. he wants to make america great. maybe trump will do away with that too. it is possible that he ll lose a couple primaries.

somebody with true washington experience. in some ways you could say ted cruz is establishment, not a fan of his, at the same time, if your guy doesn t win iowa, he is leading in the monmouth university poll right now, if he doesn t win, do we see those public swings come out at trump if trump wins iowa? no, i don t think that the decision to swing or not to swing rests on what contest senator cruz wins. we do see a great deal of strength in iowa, mainly because he s the best organized with the most stroll tiers there, and that really counts. for all the talk about how many ads can you run, what crazy thing can anybody say today, it matters what you ve got on the ground. if you have people organizing events, senator cruz shows up at rallies and forums, standing room only crowds, that s a show of strength, but you re right, he s surging in iowa. i think you ll see polling soon showing senator cruz doing very well in iowa and it s not just iowa. next week he ll be in all across the s
that you see ted cruz making this advance in iowa. one thing for rubio if ben carson wins iowa and everybody can say well that s weird ben carson and that s not is going last. if ted cruz wins it that s a different story for rubio and it raises the question, where in those early states does marco rubio win? he doesn t win iowa, new hampshire so where does he win. that s a question mark halperin has been asking for months. when you look at rubio who the press adores and you look at cruz who the press hates you go on the brown state by state by state and on the fundamentals ted cruz laps marco rubio in fundraising, he laps marco rubio on organization. i mean he s got the fundamentals to win a republican primary. howard dean, could you argue that he has a little bit of outsider status as well?
is ted cruz the one to watch? i think ted cruz. i think ted cruz could possibly win iowa. i was surprised by ben carson s absence. i think iowa is an important state for ben carson. let s consider if he comes in second, third, if he doesn t win iowa, you re hard pressed to imagine how he moves forward to new hampshire, then maybe down to south carolina, so i was a little surprised by his absence. donald trump has been falling behind carson a little bit, so i wasn t as surprised he wasn t there. i think ted cruz is somebody to watch. iowa is perfectly situated made for a ben carson and ted cruz. i think those are the two we ll see battling it out there. i was surprised about ben carson not being there and certainly trying to build momentum that he can actually win election. remembe remember, he s never been in elected office before, not a politician which is something that people love about him. but certainly he still has more to prove in that instance from an election standpoint.
