continues to use class warfare rhetoric and vilifying the so-called rich. we actually tend to trust each other less when there s greater inequality. he s playing the class warfare card. stretching point. i ve never in my life seen more people look at each other s income or the president in spotlighting it brings up the conversation and everybody inherited their money. they didn t earn their money. you talk about everybody paying their fair share, americans who can afford it should pay their fair share. the idea that we raise taxes on millionaires and billionaires, raise taxes on owners of private jets. that that is going to somehow make a difference in america s debt is not only misleading, quite frankly, it s disappointing.
is. and we ve got to do something about this chart. you ve seen the vulture chart time and time again. this trend has been going on for decades. none of the republicans have a remedy for this. and it s only getting worse, income inequality hit a record high in 2012. the top 1% took home 1/5 of the country s household income last year. good for them! isn t that awesome? but what about the folks on the blue line? the gap between the 1% and the average worker in this country is the widest it has ever been. the bigger the gap, the harder it is for americans to climb the economic ranks of opportunity. this should concern anyone who believes in the american dream. but the folks on the right wing, the conservative movement, know that it s their own policies that really put this country where it is right now. so they re responding with the only way they know how by screaming about class warfare. he s playing the class
because the people that do are a lot of times have the success, they do this thing called paying tax and this thing called hiring other people. i think this is a game plan the president should be embracing instead of talking about it the other way. when the tax money goes to pay for the programs so those who might not at the time be able to afford it. i think to your point, brian, there is value in those that are in that 1% because their money in taxes has been helping everybody else for a long time. it s part of the blame game. he s playing the class warfare card. unfortunately, if he wants to focus in on his economic record, the rich have gotten richer and more poor people are in the country than there were when he took over. there was probably a mistake. maybe they d like a do over on what should we talk about yesterday. think about the money we save on our show. we re looking to cut corners when we can. really. we need some of your money, brian.
