A Salem man drowned Friday morning in Horseshoe Bend. According to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Charlie LaFevers was pronounced dead after being pulled from Crown Lake. Chief Deputy Charley Melton says LaFevers was attempting to unclog a drain from recent flooding. He was pulled into the spillway on the lake.
