Villa Park trustees approved a six-month extension for developers planning to purchase 100--110 S. Villa Ave. to build a mixed-use apartment and retail building. Catalyst Partners and Marquette Companies sought the extension because of their inability to secure a general contractor for a fall 2022 construction start.

Villa Park has approved the architectural firm and the sale of bonds up to $7.5 million to help fund a new recreation center and redevelopment of outdoor facilities at Lions Park. The village is rushing to meet a deadline to hold onto a $10 million grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Villa Park has approved a separation agreement totalling $122,866 for its former village manager Richard Keehner, who was fired for "no cause" on a 4-to-3 board of trustees vote this past December.

The Villa Park board fired the village manager in a 4-to-3 decision at a specially called meeting Monday, just days before Christmas.The majority of trustees voted to terminate Richard Keehner "without cause," as allowed by his employment contract.
