Convicted felon James David Warner, 52, was arrested after breaking into two homes, assaulting residents, leading deputies in a speeding chase and punching the off-duty officer who caught him.

A convicted felon was charged after he allegedly assaulted two residents inside their home and led deputies on a pursuit before being apprehended Thursday, Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies said. James David Warner, 52, of Richland-Richardson Road was charged with three counts of assault, two counts of burglary, felony endangerment with a vehicle, evading arrest and theft of property.
