Fandom is great, but the need to spread the good news is harmful.

There are some significant restrictions, and this is a good time to start planning for how best to take advantage of the program. The main one is that generators are capped at $3,000 and they must be portable. If you were hoping to save $1,000 off the price of a top-of-the-line Generac, you’re out of luck. However, there are some very nice generators you can buy in that range that will see you through most blackouts. One of those to look out for is the Honda EU3000is. It’s only technically ...

It’s not like Texas needs more horror right at this moment, what with all the wintry catastrophizing and the Ted Cruzing going on. However, I like to dive into horror when I’m scared and depressed, so now seems as good a time as any to highlight Texas female authors for Women in Horror Month as February comes to an end. Download them onto your Kindle and read them when the lights go out. That’s what I did. Maryanne M. Wells Undead Bar Association novels. The first in the series, Matricu...

After the winter storm crippled Texas earlier this week and left millions without power, Houstonians tried desperately to find open grocery stores to replenish their stocks. Houston Kroger stores have been open intermittently since Tuesday trying to serve customers. Hours in stores have been reduced from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and long lines stretch hundreds of feet from the doors. Despite that, most customers appear to be in an understanding mood Thursday. “We’re doing okay,” says Ida Knight,...

Michelle Trachtenberg, who played Dawn Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, recently revealed that inappropriate behavior by series creator Joss Whedon when she was a minor led to a rule that he was never to be allowed on set with her alone. In April 2007, after the show had ended, he started having her drawn nude in the follow-up comic book. Trachtenberg is one of many who have come forward about Whedon. Ray Fisher stated last year that the director was abusive to him on the set of Justice ...

One of the reasons that it has remained in the public mind for so long is that for two centuries archaeologists have carefully excavated the doomed city. The nature of the eruption and its fast-moving pyroclastic flow literally stopped time on one afternoon in 79 C.E. The new exhibit featuring artifacts from Pompeii at the Houston Museum of Natural Science brings the magnitude of the disaster home...

Well, don’t get too comfortable because according to QAnon he only has until March 4 before Donald Trump comes storming out Florida like a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble to Make America Great Again… Again. Here’s the latest conspiracy theory, which is actually a pretty old one. According to some conspiracy theorists...

Donald Trump is about to enter his second impeachment trial still claiming the election is rigged, but he learned that trick watching Bernie Sanders

Its a rough economy in Texas right now, but who knew it was so bad that people were stealing plants? At 5 a.m. on Sunday January 31, Sharpstown resident John Brannen found that a random thief had brazenly came up to his door, stolen two yuccas, and walked away with supreme confidence as if it were the ending of an HGTV remake of The Usual Suspects. The thief was caught on Brannens Ring camera (full video below). "Admittedly, the two plants were not in the healthiest condition," says Brennan....
