08:00 | Lima, May. 11. Since the immunization process began in Peru, 2,117,737 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. Also, 1,410,834 people have received the first dose, while 706,903 are fully vaccinated with a second dose, Agrarian Development and Irrigation Minister Federico Tenorio has reported. We have administered more than 2 million doses of the vaccine, the minister said in the conference he gave on Monday, together with Interior Minister Jose Elice, at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM).
Olinda, 84, became the two millionth person to receive a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. She was identified in a symbolic way as such after she received the jab in Lima s El Agustino district.

10:36 | Lima, May. 11. The National Police of Peru (PNP) caught 11,615 people violating the health protocols established to face the COVID-19 pandemic during operations carried out across the country on Sunday, May 9, until 6 a.m. the next day, Interior Minister Jose Elice has reported.
So far this year, he said, the PNP has issued 314,510 fines to those rule breakers for walking in the streets during curfew hours and without a work permit, traveling in private vehicles without authorization, not wearing a face mask, not carrying their ID card, or not keeping distance.
The minister urged everyone to adhere to the measures adopted by the Executive Branch in order to deal with the pandemic and noted that the first thing police officers do when they patrol the streets is raise awareness about the health hazards during this time of pandemic.
