Wednesday will be the most active of the forecast period. However, brisk winds could still create some issues as we end the week.

Still, the second wettest year on record, September continued the rainy weather with 8.35 inches coming down and that is almost double the average. The showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast through Monday before a cold front switches the pattern.   

Pleasant weather will continue into the weekend. Temperatures will gradually moderate Saturday through the middle of next week.

The National Weather Service has continued the FLASH FLOOD WATCH through Friday for all local parishes and counties EXCEPT Amite, East Feliciana, Pointe Coupee and West Feliciana and Wilkinson. The remains of Nicholas continue to spin near Lafayette with copious amounts of gulf moisture continuing to stream into the area. While typical summer thunderstorms are in the forecast through Saturday, all eyes focus on the tropics. A significant storm could be in the Gulf of Mexico by early next week.
