The government had on June 19 granted emergency e-visas to 111 Hindus and Sikhs from Afghanistan, hours after a terrorist group attacked the Karte Parwan gurdwara in Afghanistan, killing two people, including Sawinder Singh.

The group carried the ashes of Sawinder Singh, who was killed in the attack on June 18.

An attack claimed by Islamic State on a Sikh temple in the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday killed at least two people and injured seven, officials said, another deadly incident in a spate of violence targeting minorities and places of worship.

A relative of the Afghan Sikh man, who is among the two persons killed in a terror attack on a gurdwara in Kabul, saidhis brother-in-law was taking a bath when he was fatally shot multiple times.

Sikh bodies appeal comes in the wake of the dastardly attack at Gurdwara Dashmesh Pita Guru Gobind Singh, Karte Parwan in Afghanistan’s Kabul which left two persons Sawinder Singh, 61, and a security guard Ahmad dead.  

The terror attack on a Kabul Gurudwara comes as the latest targeted assault on a place of worship of the minority Sikh community in war-torn Afghanistan.

Visuals posted by locals on social media shows a barefoot man carrying the Guru Granth Sahib on his head.

The terrorists died in a blast as they were attempting to drive a car loaded with explosives into the area.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar denounced the "cowardly attack" on the gurudwara and said that India is closely monitoring developments in Kabul.
