On a dreary, rainy morning, kids across Troup County ended their summer break and headed back to school on Friday. For many parents, it’s a sigh of relief but for teachers and school administrators, it’s months of planning coming to fruition.

On Thursday, LaGrange Youth Council member and rising star, Alisa Lee, presented to the city council about her time as an intern for the city. The young leader served as an intern for the city’s marketing and communications department and also serves on the youth council.

On Monday, during the Troup County School Board work session, Marion Tate and James Stenson Jr. of the Dernell Renauld Stenson Foundation Scholarship and STEM Achievement Awards presented six seniors with a $1,250 Scholarship and 11 elementary and middle school students with a STEM Achievement Award.
