The Lincoln Blue Tiger women’s basketball teams feels it had a strong base to build off of with their six returning players from last year’s roster. And the Blue Tigers went out and added three transfers and six freshmen to help complete the puzzle. Now all that’s left is to see how the pieces fit together. Lincoln will get its first opportunity to see how the pieces fit when it opens the season at 7 p.m. today against Arkansas-Monticello in the Central Region Challenge in Mongolia, Ark.
Lincoln’s men’s basketball team will be looking for a season sweep of the Central Missouri Mules today at Jason Gym. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the MIAA contest. Lincoln defeated Central Missouri 74-72 on Dec. 11 in Warrensburg.
JOPLIN The Lincoln Blue Tigers made 8-of-8 free throws in the final minute of Monday night’s MIAA men’s basketball game, holding on to beat the Missouri Southern Lions 84-82.
The win snapped Lincoln’s streak of four consecutive road losses to Missouri Southern. The Blue Tigers’ last win in Joplin was a 75-72 victory Jan. 14, 2017.
MARYVILLE The Lincoln men’s basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end Saturday as the Blue Tigers dropped a 59-38 decision to the defending national champion Northwest Missouri Bearcats in MIAA play.
Coming in on a four-game win streak, the Lincoln Blue Tiger men’s basketball team will be tasked with possibly its biggest test of the season when it visits the defending national champion and ninth-ranked Northwest Missouri Bearcats today.
Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in MIAA play in Maryville.
