Encampussing just about the entire bay area. Temperatures inland over 100 all the way through thursday. 103 in pleasanton. And in the 90s in san jose today. And 100 in morgan hill. 96 in santa rosa. And 100 in occidental and guerneville. Well talk more about the heat wave as the temperatures stay pretty much on the hot side each and every day. Pg e is working overtime. Jessica flores is live in livermore with the very latest on pg es hard work restoring power to thousands of people. Reporter thats right, roberta. Thousands of people were without power yesterday. And today, 2000 still without power. Around 4 30 p. M. Yesterday, about 5000 people lost their power during the height of the heat at 106. Its going to be 102 today. And 40,000 households were without power across the bay area yesterday.

And thats coming up at 18 after the hour. The warm temperatures across the bay area have sparked growing concerns over electricity use. Jessica flores is live in policeton with the details of a flex alert taking effect today. Reporter as you just heard, a lot of the inland areas will see tripledigit heat already in pleasanton. Capsized sailboat. Good evening. Im dan ashley. And im ama daetz. We sent out an alert to the abc7 news app as this was happening. We also streamed it live through the app. The sailboat capsized about 2 30 this afternoon. Only sky 7 was overhead as three people were pulled from San Francisco bay. The water temperature is about 55 degrees. So cold it can be dangerous. Kate larson is live with the details. Kate . Reporter well, dan, ama, those boaters were lucky they were rescued they were. They launched here, and they got about a mile into the bay when the coast guard says their sailboat capsized. I watched as the three men after being treated by paramedics, walked into an ambulance. They did appear okay. But first, lets go ahead and take a look at that video from sky 7 earlier this afternoon. The helicopter was overhead during todays very timely rescue. About five minutes after the men capsized, a fleet ferry in the area was able to rescue one of the three boaters, who was able to grab

Tomorrow. We have a Live Team Coverage tonight. We are live in san jose. You learn more about the victims who died. Reporter one of the victims was a 72yearold homeless man who died in his car. The other death was an 87year old woman family members said was gardening when she died. The exposure to the hot sun was too much for her. She was a sweet old lady. Reporter people in this neighborhood are mourning the death of the 87yearold who was friendly and loved to garden. She would wave and get her garbage cans. Reporter it was at her home and her son said she was doing yard work. Neighbors warned her it was too hot and she should go inside. It was not until 4 00 in the afternoon her son found her passed out lying on the pavement. She died of hypothermia. Record body temperature was too high. I think the deaths are preventable.
