A spaceship built by a company in Texas is poised for lunar touchdown on Thursday, returning America to the Moon after more than five decades in what promises to be a historic first for the private sector. - Project Apollo -  In 1961, president John F. India will attempt a Moon landing this week, with its Chandrayaan-3 mission. This third mission from the Indian Space Research Organisation aims to become the first to conclusively discover evidence of water on the Moon, as well as explore the lunar south pole. However, as well as providing national pride for India, its space agency will be hoping a successful mission will have a real impact on the countrys economy.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has developed a new plan to ensure successful landing of its Chandrayaan-3 Vikram lander even if its sensors or engines malfunction.
