The trotters had their turn in the City Of London Series with the opening leg comprised of three $8,000 divisions on Friday, May 17 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Take it from a pair of O'Brien Award-winning horsemen, harness racing is not an easy business to break into, but the rewards are worthwhile.

"It's a great honour being respected by your peers. A lot of hard work is involved in this, a great staff behind us too, you know, it's not just me. We've got a good bunch of grooms and second trainers that help us along so it's a great accomplishment for us all."

Standardbred Canada announced the winners of the 2023 O’Brien Awards, honouring Canada’s best in harness racing over the past season, at the Black Tie Gala in Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024.
