Over 100 police constables who aspired to become police sub-inspectors (PSI) lost their opportunity as they could not make it to the exam centers after three coaches derailed at Matunga late on Friday night making the train timetable go haywire.

"There has been a minor collision between Chalukya Express and Mumbai CSMT Gadag Express, near Matunga Railway Station. No injuries reported yet. Suburban trains are running," said Railway CP. 

The Central Railways further informed that the suburban trains on Saturday will work as per the holiday schedule on the mainline only.

No injuries were reported as three coaches of the Dadar-Puducherry Chalukya Express derailed near Matunga station in Mumbai on Friday after a minor collision with Mumbai CSMT Gadag Express, said a Central Railway official.

Sources said that after its designated 3 minutes halt, the train left platform 5 of Dadar station at 9.33 pm and slowly proceeded towards Matunga. At the same time, 11005 Dadar-Puducherry was scheduled to depart Dadar at 9.30 pm. Somehow the locomotive of Puducherry Express dashed the coaches of Gadag Express while both were running parallel.
