Weather in the Portland metropolitan area is not expected to receive much love on Valentine s Day.
Severe weather with temperatures below or only slightly above freezing is expected to continue through Sunday, Feb. 14 with more snow and freezing rain possible in the afternoon. The State of Emergency declared by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown on Saturday remains in effect, with temperatures not expected to rise much above freezing until Monday morning, at the earliest.

All transit service is canceled, major roadways are closed. and hundreds of thousands are without power.
A dangerous mix of snow and ice hammered much of the region late Friday and early Saturday, forcing TriMet to cease operations, as well as shut down many roads, and knock out power for hundreds thousands of people. Mass vaccination clinics were also canceled for Saturday and Sunday in Portland.
A Winter Storm Warning remaining in effect at least through 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13.
Early Saturday morning, TriMet announced that all MAX and bus service has been temporarily suspended until further notice due to the weather conditions, including LIFT paratransit service. Portland Streetcar service was halted Friday. The Oregon Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 84 in the Columbia Gorge, and the Portland Bureau of Transportation has closed Marine Drive. Portland severe weather and warming shelters remain open
Emergency severe weather and warming shelters will continue operating because of the ongoing winter storm.
The city of Portland/Multnomah County Joint Office of Homeless Services and Multnomah County Emergency Management also announced that more daytime walk-in capacity would be added on Saturday, Feb. 13.
In addition, outreach workers will also continue to distribute cold-weather gear and share word about shelters with people surviving outside. First responders, including Portland Fire & Rescue and the Portland Police Bureau, have also been assisting in transporting people to shelter.
Around 60 people came in from the cold on Thursday evening, Feb. 12, rising to 150 by Friday, according to Joint Office spokesman Denis Theriault.
