you from driving on four. that looks good. back to the desk. we have been following this an early morning fire send a family out of their home. and alex savage joins us. you have been out there all morning, what are the firefighters saying about that fire? i can tell you that a chief says that this is possibly suspicious. that s mainly because of the fact it broke out in this home behind us that was empty at the time. the flames spread and set the lot on fire. the flames jumped to the right. this started this morning and the first firefighters called for more engines. more than 75 firefighters were called out here to hudson avenue. six people were forced from their home taft caught fire but they were able to get out. they are okay. but the homes have heavy damage and this was a challenging call for the firefighters who got here. it was hard to tell what was burning. we didn t know there was a carport. two were fully involved. and so it took recreating using imagery to s
news out of san francisco. and. alex savage is out there along hudson avenue. you have a firefighter that is hurt, alex? reporter: a firefighter. he is being treated. and to say the least. and burned through the property. and it spread to the homes on either side. this what it looks like this morning on 19500 block of hudson avenue. big flames pouring from the property. one was empty. the other did have six people inside including two kids. everyone, though, was able to get out. and a scary scene. and the heat was just intense. we were trying to get out of the way. 70 firefighters were called in here to battle the flames. they got it under control. but the heavy damage was done to both of the homes that are adjacent to the piece of property. but again it houseed a garage that may or may not have had a it may have housed a garage and a combustible inside. and they are trying to get officials to pinpoint the cause of the fire. i asked an acting chief out here if it
lightening-caused fires happening near here. it was a long day for firefighters across the north bay as they responded to call after call for lightening-caused fires. we had several hundred reported lightening strikes throughout the sonoma lake, napa, slau know counties. at least 20 of those strieks led to fires and almost half were near the sonoma napa county line. the good news is the fires were small, the large just two acres, but getting to them was tough. there s some accessibility issues with where the strieks are so the crews are having to hike in and gain access to those fires. beyond if fire danger, many people thought mother nature s light show was dazzling. these are some of the pick schurs sent to us by ktvu viewers. woke up to the thunder and lightening and turned off all my inside lights and made myself comfortable on the couch and just watched it for an hour, hour and a half. my dogs weren t real happy about it. jeff found himself with a bed full of
