"Quiet hiring" has gained prominence amid mass lay-offs as it refers to a method of finding new talent without hiring new full-time employees.

With moonlighting gaining traction in the country, most employees (81 per cent) interviewed said they do not wish to indulge in it and feel that it is unethical, according to a report.

The former CEO also questioned top management of companies and wrote, “Is senior management being part of other company boards moonlighting? When they invest their own money in startups and make profits, is that moonlighting? Is their trading in stock markets moonlighting?”

D.C. employers should be aware of a provision buried in the law that has nothing to do with non-competes and requires action by the end of this month. The law requires employers with confidentiality policies and moonlighting policies provide a written copy of the policies.

Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte says that the IT company has no problem with its employees taking up side jobs. But it will not favour employees working with competitors.
