Fiesta may be postponed, but you can eat your heart out with some unique chicken-on-a-sticks.
Milli Guzman, 36, told MySA.com she started making chicken-on-a-stick after Fiesta postponed and then later canceled in 2020. She shortly launched a business dedicated to the Fiesta favorite, called Guac It like I talk it, last April.
This year, Guzman changed up her chicken-on-a-stick by making it heart-shaped for Valentine s Day.
Balloons are a fun way to celebrate, however, the decorations aren t fun for the animals.
Officials from the Padre Island National Seashore reminded beachgoers on its Facebook account Sunday of how harmful releasing balloons can be to the ocean and wildlife. One thing we ask is that you don’t release balloons, no matter where you are, PINS wrote in its post. When you release balloons, they often end up in our oceans and on our beaches.
Last year, the Ibarra family volunteered to pick up trash the day after Valentine s Day and found 67 decorative balloons littered at the beach. The family told MySA.com last year how they couldn t believe how many they threw away, saying the balloons were everywhere.

We ve heard of Bring Your Own Beer, but Bring Your Own BBQ Pit is a first.
Social Spot, a bar along the Broadway corridor, is allowing guests to do just that so they can cook for their friends and family during Super Bowl LV on Sunday. The local outdoor bar told MySA.com it is recommending for folks to call ahead before hauling in their pit. However, it isn t required.
The bar will have designated areas for guests to set up their cook out. All pits will be spaced out and social distancing will be enforced, the local bar noted. Customers can not bring anything bigger than a barrel barbecue pit, so don t get ahead of yourselves, grillmasters.
