Nawab Malik on Thursday fired yet another salvo against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede and claimed that an organiser of the cruise party was latter’s friend and sought to know why no action was taken against him.

Mumbai Police on Thursday said that on the night of October 27, they took Prabhakar Sail, a witness in the drugs-on-cruise case who has alleged payoff in the case, to different locations in Mumbai where, as he alleged, transfer of money and other alleged offences related to the case took place.

The HC also ordered to release on bail other accused - Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, who were also arrested on October 2 from city's port terminal.

Since the arrest in the drug-on-cruise case, a war of words has broken out between Sameer Wankhede and Nawab Malik. Nawab Malik had accused Wankhede of favouritism. Malik also made serious allegations of extortion against Wankhede and has also raised questions on the authenticity of his birth certificate and marriage.

Mumbai Police, who are conducting inquiry in complaints of alleged extortion attempt by NCB officials in the drug seizure case involving Aryan Khan, summoned the central agency's independent witness Prabhakar Sail again on Thursday.

Earlier yesterday, Wankhede moved Bombay High Court over the enquiry against him by the Maharashtra government and demanded a probe by CBI or any central agency in the extortion case which was disposed of by the court later on.

NCP state president and Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil came in open to support his ministerial colleague Nawab Malik saying that he has been making revelations against NCB.
