When Carson City throws a Thanksgiving dinner, the Carson Nugget has always delivered. With 60 years now under its belt, the downtown capital city casino again outdid itself with community service, treating nearly 1,000 residents to a free Thanksgiving meal.

February 7 is best known as ‘Super Bowl Sunday’ and there are plenty of parties going on around town to help you cheer for your favorite team. The Denver Broncos square off against the Carolina Panthers at Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. Kickoff for Super Bowl 50 is at 3:25 p.m. and will air on CBS.

CARSON CITY — Ducks in a Row, a presentation designed to help people understand about advanced medical directives, power of attorney and estate management questions regarding wills and finances will be featured Friday at the Carson City Senior Center.

Thank goodness we are only two months from the first day of summer; spring is such an unpredictable season. Blustery today, rainy tomorrow, the threat of some snow in a few days. Take advantage of a nice day whenever it appears. Bike night at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar is one way to do that.

Mark your calendars for next months Carson City Beer Crawl on Saturday Oct. 20. The Beer Crawl will start at 6 p.m. and go until 10 p.m., instead of 7-11 p.m. Bring your official Brew Crew mug and receive $3 off admission. Registration will take place outside of Alatte at the Carson Nugget located at 507 N Carson Street.

As we make our way to Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, events around the capital city include a job fair at the Carson Nugget, a morning walk, evening hike and a bike ride with Muscle Powered, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs, a Fat Tuesday business networking event, Culinary Traveler’s Club at Bleu Cafe and more.

Summer is holding on for dear life, and sending a miniature heat wave our way for this long weekend. For those of you not in Black Rock City, the Carson City region offers plenty of recreation and entertainment.
