Oxford man s 18th birthday goes awry, leading to his arrest

5/8/21 An Oxford man apparently had big plans for his 18th birthday, but getting arrested for drunk driving was likely not among them. The Iowa State Patrol pulled over a 2007 Ford Taurus being driven by Kain Wallace of West State Street just after 5pm Thursday on the 1600 block of Scott Boulevard in Iowa City. The officer wrote in his arrest report that he pulled the car over after Wallace locked his brakes, jerked to the right and jumped a curb. Those inside the vehicle said the front seat passenger bumped into Wallace while putting a sweatshirt in the back seat, causing the accident.
