Reporter the San Jose Police chief says the department is actively investigating while praying for their wounded officer. Two officers responded to a family disturbance wednesday morning. The caller said her husband was drunk and trying to hit her. The chief said the two responding officers were ambushed 30 seconds after arriving to the complex. The suspect exited onto the balcony landing. From a position of concealment, discharged a firearm, striking the officer. Reporter the female officer was shot in the upper body outside the vest.
