There may be no other term in a pond-owners dictionary that strikes fear quite like the word "turnover," said Scott Jones, small impoundment Extension specialist for the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Institute for Digital Health & Innovation has received a three-year, $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to help reduce violent crime in and around the Pine Bluff School District.

The program provides faculty at 1890 land-grant universities the opportunity to participate in a residency at an ARS laboratory to conduct cooperative research of mutual interest with ARS scientists.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff 4-H Youth Development Program and UAPB STEM Academy co-hosted a "Feed the Funnel" volunteer event to support local food pantries and food-serving organizations, said Teki Hunt, director of UAPBs 4-H program.

Five University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff students were among the 97 selected nationwide for participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture/1890 National Scholars Program, said Belinda Demmings, USDA liaison for UAPB.
