A man found in the Lampasas River last week has been identified as Eric Martinets, 30, of Taylor. Next of kin has been notified.

Belton police confirmed the man, who matched the description of a missing person from Taylor, was dead. A positive ID is pending.

A fisherman on Thursday discovered a body face down in the Lampasas River near the I-35 bridge, Belton police reported Friday.
