The FDA stated that the onions were "sold to restaurants and grocery stores throughout the United States."

The CDC found that people got sick after eating raw onions that were imported from Chihuahua, Mexico distributed into the U.S, by ProSource Inc.

The C.D.C. urged consumers to throw away any whole red, white or yellow onions they purchased that do not have a sticker or packaging.
