The southwest monsoon became active over Maharashtra again after a gap of two weeks, and brought extremely heavy showers to the south Konkan region on Monday.

The IMD has issued an alert for extremely heavy rainfall in parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, for the entirety of this week.

The IMD, in its latest weather update, mentioned that heavy rains are expected to lash parts of Southern India, such as Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

The IMD has issued a new heavy rainfall alert for today in several districts of Tamil Nadu, with light rains predicted in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Lodhi Road, Jafarpur, Ridge, Ayanagar, Palam, Pitampura, and Jafarpur were among areas that reported light rainfall in the daytime till late evening.

Across the country, heavy rainfall is expected over the next few days, with some places also likely to experience thundershowers. Check the weather update in your city.

IMD has predicted that Delhi will see light to moderate rains today, July 26, as well as cloudy skies and moderate thunderstorms.

From Himachal Pradesh to Tamil Nadu, several states and UTs are likely to see bouts of heavy to very heavy rainfall till July 28.

In a weather bulletin, the IMD said that fairly widespread to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is very likely over various states till July 23.

Generally cloudy sky, moderate rain or thundershowers are predicted in the city over the next three days.
