The SNP Government have totally lost the plot. They're going to wipe out our middle class families whilst handing out freebies to Scots who have never worked and have no intention of ever working and encouraging so many migrants into our country with all her handouts paid out of our taxes.

Politicians like Nicola Sturgeon need to bear a few facts in mind. They are employed by us, the electorate, to do a job. We need to be kept fully informed about their actions so that we know whether they are carrying it out to our satisfaction.

I share the concern expressed by Archibald Lawrie (Scotsman letters, April 26). The list of churches listed for possible closure in East Lothian includes a number of pre-Reformation parish churches. These buildings are not just places of worship, but are important, historic listed buildings which are of huge local interest.

H A N McKenzie's sole response to Tim Jackson's recent catalogue of SNP failings is to say that Westminster “does it too” (Letters, 5 May). He has no answer to Mr Jackson's assertions because there quite simply isn't one.
