Regarding Mr. Brown’s letter to The Columbian (“GOP mess takes time to clean up,” Our Readers’ Views, Sept. 29). An exception to his historical perspective and opinion is in order.

Regarding Greg Jayne’s “Legislative map a tricky puzzle” (The Columbian, Sept. 26), I saw the proposed map of the districts, federal and state legislative, and I am dismayed.

In response to “Biden is an embarrassment” (Our Readers’ Views, Oct. 25): How quickly people forget the true embarrassment to America being the action of Trump inciting his followers to disrupt the Congressional vote for Biden in January.

Big applause for Veronica Violet! Well said! Her letter (“My body, my choice,” Our Readers’ Views, Oct. 5) nailed the real problem: men determining that women are responsible for pregnancy. Wrap it up; problem solved.

Regarding “Read, learn from letters” (Our Readers’ Views, Sept. 30): I read the letters. I have learned there are a large number of angry, intolerant “progressive” letter-writers present.

Regarding Vicki Kraft’s letter “A vow to follow Constitution” (Our Readers’ Views, Aug. 7), I found it to be dripping in buzz words, catch phrases and code words meant to rile up her Republican base.

Bill Ward asked, “Where did we go wrong?” (“Preserve freedom, capitalism,” Our Readers’ Views, July 26). I can answer that. We went wrong when the bounty of increased production of goods and services shifted from the producers of the profit (labor) to the owners (CEOs and shareholders). Labor creates wealth, but has been denied a sufficient share of that bounty since the 1980s.

I’m responding to Marc Chamberlin’s letter regarding his and a small group of people’s sensitivity to the sight of needles going into arms (Our Readers’ Views, June 3). I’m far more bothered by the images of body bags on gurneys waiting to be refrigerated because so many people are dying, children who live in the richest country in the world sleeping on the street, and elderly people of all races being assaulted on public streets just because they’re perceived as an easy mark or belo...
