The fake banknotes, which surfaced on the internet, depict Lord Ram and the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, replacing Mahatma Gandhi and the Red Fort, respectively.

The star symbol was introduced on the new Rs 500 banknotes in December 2016.

While some people were impressed by his wealth, others questioned the need for such an extravagant display. Some people even speculated that the notes might not be real.

The RBI has finally issued a clarification on the alleged conspiracy of the missing Rs 500 notes in India, amounting to over Rs 88,000 crore.

The central bank said that all banknotes supplied from printing presses to the RBI are properly accounted for.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) does not have a plan to reintroduce Rs 1,000 bank notes to ease the impact following the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes, RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said today, calling reports on the subject "speculative".

The incident took place near Bevinahalli in Madya district on Tuesday during the ‘Praja Dhwani Yatra’ organised by the Congress in Srirangapatna, ANI reported. The senior Congress leader was throwing the notes on the artists.
