A senior technician position, which includes working on bridge inspections, would not be filled since Maule can receive his bridge inspection certificate in about two years.

Along with area counties, county engineer Darin Fellbaum proposed renewing the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST). The half-cent tax funds road and bridge projects. The current tax is in place through 2025.

The grid categorizes positions with grades based on job descriptions. Employees also have steps which are based on experience and county work anniversaries.
