The group works to address the COVID-19 health, economic and supply crises across the state. Members meet with Gov. Lee five to six days a week for roughly 60-90 minutes a day providing him with vital information concerning the virus.
“Talking about COVID is how he starts his morning every workday,” said retired Brig. Gen. Scott Brower, chief of staff for the Governor’s Unified Command Group.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) plans to return to traditional, predominantly face-to-face instruction and operation for the Fall 2021 semester. The plans will resemble the University’s pre-pandemic class format, while also having the ability to convert to alternative course delivery should the need arise.

“We’ve been through nearly a year of emergency operations that have tested our protocols and our perseverance,” Dannelle Whiteside, interim APSU president, said. “It is rare to have such a lengthy scenario, but it has prepared us for future crises.

Tranaya Spencer, 22, pleaded guilty Thursday, Dec. 10 to one count of manslaughter and one count of third-degree child abuse, Kalamazoo County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Scott Brower told MLive.
Spencer will be sentenced Jan. 4 in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court.
