A snowfall warning has been issued, prompting an advisory for drivers in parts of British Columbia's South Coast to prepare for poor road conditions.

B.C. weekend weather: A rainfall alert is in effect for the eastern end of the Fraser Valley and winter-storm warnings have been issued for mountain passes in the Interior.

Environment Canada says significant snow is anticipated Saturday through Monday, but did not give any indication as to how much is expected.

As parts of eastern Nova Scotia and eastern Prince Edward Island report snow amounts of 30 to 60 cm already down, there is more to come over the next few days.

As a stalled ocean storm sits off the Atlantic coastline of Nova Scotia, further bands of heavy snow continue to wrap back into areas of that province as well as Prince Edward Island.

Environment Canada says up to 80 cm of snow could fall in some parts of Nova Scotia this weekend creating poor driving conditions, with visibility reduced to near zero at times.
