Seeing the traffic. Lets start with the bay bridge toll plaza. I can see the traffic is backed up. Even some of these lanes will be slow approaching the toll plaza. There have been no major issues. The other slow traffic spot is the altamont pass. It continues to be slow. If you look at the rest of the east bay, we do not have a lot of slow traffic yet. Traffic is moving well in the east bay including walnut creek, 680, 24 and highway 4, bay point. Its been a long wait but later today, bart roll out the first of its brandnew train cars. Republicans and democrats are already starting to point angers to pin the blame on a shutdown on one another. The president this morning canceled his planned trip to florida. He was planning to celebrate the oneyear anniversary of his inauguration. The white house saying the chances of a shutdown are now somewhere between 50 and 60 . Chuck schumer had a few brief comments as he left the white house this afternoon. We had a long and detailed meeting. We discussed all of the major, outstanding issues.
