What is simple is the message of Narcotics Anonymous - we have found a way to live without using drugs, and are happy to share it with anyone for whom drugs are a problem.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Celebrate the history of one of the biggest legends of the Sierra Nevada when the Lake Tahoe Historial Society hosts the 21st annual Snowshoe Thompson Ski & Snowshoe Celebration on Sunday, March 3 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This free event will be held in the History Complex, 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

BURNEY, Calif.— California State Parks announced the temporary closure of the main trails that provide access to the highly-visited falls at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park. Many from the Lake Tahoe and Western Nevada areas visit the park, either while passing it on SR89, or using it as a destination camping spot.

The California Department of Parks and Recreation (State Parks) has developed a five-year strategic plan to help shape the future direction of the state park system and the many recreational and conservation programs that serve California’s communities.

Clean Up The Lake (CUTL), a 501(c)3 environmental nonprofit, completed its first SCUBA-enabled pilot research project in Echo Lakes, California to evaluate litter accumulations and survey for aquatic invasive species (AIS).

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A Winter Storm Warning is in place for the Lake Tahoe Basin until 10 a.m. Wednesday. After a fairly mild Sunday before the next storm system arrived, a wetter storm is now in the area. It is expected to bring heavy wet Sierra snow with good spillover rains into lower valleys though daytime highs remain mild.
