A nearby landowner challenging the approval of a new Deer Valley lift has withdrawn their appeal.

A Park City panel on Wednesday was not prepared to cast a vote on a Deer Valley Resort proposal to build a new lift, delaying a decision by at least two weeks and scheduling a visit to the location.

Those who came to town were greeted by less-than-ideal conditions over the last couple weeks.

The storm brought about 6 inches of snow in the past day, well-received by those flocking to the resort on the first day of its 42nd season.
