New Delhi, May 25 : IPS officer Subodh Kumar Jaiswal was on Tuesday named the new Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In an order, the Department of Personnel and Training said: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has, based on the panel recommended by the Committee, approved the appointment of Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, IPS, (Maharashtra 1985) as Director, CBI for a period of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the office or until further orders whichever is earlier.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) chief Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has been appointed as Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a period of two years, a government notification said on Tuesday evening.

Subodh Kumar Jaiswal is a 1985 batch officer from the Maharashtra cadre. He has also served as the Mumbai Police Commissioner and Director General of Maharashtra Police. Jaiswal was also with the Research and Analysis Wing (RA&W) for nine years, during which he served as the additional secretary for three years.
Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, an IPS officer and the chief of Central Industrial Security Forces, has been appointed as the chief of the Central Bureau of Investigation for a two-year period.
