Tice White is June's Betty J Lewis Spotlight

Tice White was born on January 22, 1978, in Camden, Arkansas to Robert and Ora White. He was raised in Camden, Arkansas, and attended Camden Fairview Public Schools. While attending Camden Fairview High School he also attended SAU-Tech as one of the first students enrolled in the concurrent enrollment program. He graduated from Camden Fairview High School in 1996. After graduating high school, White attended the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville where he majored in political science with a minor in education. While attending the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville he worked for the Student Affairs division as a Resident Assistant for two years at the largest residence hall on the University campus. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the Fulbright College of Arts & Science. In 2004, he also received a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville's College of Education. In 2003, he began working at the Walmart Inc. Corporate Office in Bentonville, AR in the Health and Wellness Department. In that role, he served as the legislative aide in the company's optical division where he supported regulatory and legislative issues on the state and federal level. In his next role at Walmart, he served as Senior Manager of Constituent Relations in the Diversity and Corporate Affairs Department. In that role, he managed and fostered external relationships with state and national African American stakeholder groups on behalf of the company. During this time, he engaged and implemented partnerships and relationships with stakeholder groups including the United Negro College Fund, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the National Urban League, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the National Black Caucus of State Legislators, and the National Black Mayors Association among other groups.

when you send holiday packages. we wanted to get inside a package and see how much damage was going on. >> reporter: the editor teamed up with tech masters at national instruments to outfit packages with specially-made motion sensors. the packages are sent on a cross-country trek from the magazine's offices in new york city to santa monica, california, then to austin, texas, from there back to new york. at each stop, data from the sensors was uploaded to computers to figure out how often your gifts end up on the ground. >> we found that fedex had an average of around 3.1 drops per shipment. u.p.s. had 2 and the postal service had .5. >> reporter: that's right, good old mr. postman dropped your gifts the least. the postal service isn't entirely in the clear, because when it came down to how many times your gifts were flipped upside down -- >> the post office did the most, an average of 12 flips per
