Hodiny na věži farního kostela sv. Jakuba v Moravské Nové Vsi se zastavily přesně v 19:25. V ten čas na obec udeřilo tornádo.

Hrušky jsou jedna z obcí na jihu Moravy, které tornádo nemilosrdně smetlo a zanechalo na kolenou. Navštívili jsme místo stižené ničivým vírem. Jeho scenérie vyvolává hluboké pohnutí. Nikdo nečekal tornádo takového rozsahu a takové ničivé síly, jaké ve čtvrtek postihlo celkem sedm obcí v krásné vinařské oblasti jižní Moravy. Podle místních stačilo 2,5 minuty a zkáza byla dokonána. Odstraňování následků potrvá podstatně déle.

Silná bouře se ve čtvrtek v podvečer prohnala kromě jiných i Moravskou Novou Vsí na Břeclavsku. Poškozené jsou podle starosty Marka Košuta snad stovky domů, v místě jsou převrácené vozy včetně kamionu.
