Ipswich’s U18s eventually cruised into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup at Portman Road tonight after a flurry of goals in the early stages of the second half saw them defeat Andover Town 4-0.

A young Town U18 side fell to their second consecutive league defeat as they lost 1-0 to Coventry City and were reduced to 10 men at Playford Road on Saturday afternoon.

Towns U18s fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Cardiff City on Saturday morning with a hat-trick from Bluebirds striker Sion Spence separating the sides.

Towns U18s made the worst possible start to their new league season on Saturday when they were thrashed 6-1 by Nottingham Forest at Playford Road.

Towns U18s progressed to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup as they beat Gillingham 2-1 at Priestfield on Friday evening. Armando Dobra (pictured) gave Adem Atay and Kieron Dyers side a half-time lead before Roman Campbell equalised and then Kai Brown scored a late winner for the young Blues.
