Plans are underway to extend the Greater Richmond Transit Company’s Pulse bus rapid transit route, and PlanRVA is seeking the public’s input to figure out just how far west the BRT should go.

Henrico and GRTC are considering a westward extension of the Pulse line to allow for a commuter park-and-ride lot.

The three new members increase the regional transit provider’s board to nine. Previously, it had six members with three from Richmond and three from Chesterfield County.

Since Richmond’s launch of redesigned bus routes and the award-winning Pulse bus rapid transit line, the counties surrounding Virginia’s capital have softened their opposition to public transit and are beginning to see expanded bus service as key to their continued prosperity.
