Sun Mountain Lumber confirmed Tuesday that it has acquired the R-Y Timber sawmill in Livingston. The mill had shut down in February 2023 after the second of two fires.

Sun Mountain’s process extracts everything but the high-pitched whine of the saws. It harvests lumber, sawdust, chips and planer shavings.
