Premium Content Two Ballina brothers charged over an alleged park stabbing remain before the courts. Charge certificates in the cases against Jarett and Tory Martin-Manton, aged 25 and 24, are due to be filed by the prosecution by April 15. The case against the pair will return to court the following day. Neither of the men were required to appear in person when the allegations were mentioned before Tweed Heads Local Court on Friday. Police will allege the pair were involved in a fight in Apex Park in Byron Bay in the early hours of Sunday, September 20. It will be alleged that during this fight, the brothers stabbed Gregory Martin, causing various wounds.

Subscriber only A man who engaged in a spree of theft and dishonesty offences between Port Macquarie and the Queensland border will soon be sentenced. Nathan Rowe, 34, from the Sydney suburb of Tregear, appeared before Tweed Heads Local Court via video link from custody on Friday. Rowe, who has a lengthy criminal history, has pleaded guilty to a host of offences. According to court documents, he was ultimately arrested at Tweed City Shopping Centre on May 23 last year, three days after he fled from the scene of a crash involving a stolen Nissan Navara in Nerang. Along with breaking into homes and vehicles, court documents shed light on Rowe repeatedly getting access to the underground carparks of apartment buildings and rifling through locked and unlocked storage areas.

Subscriber only The trial against two men accused of setting a man on fire and leaving him to die has been adjourned for the third time. Aydin Christopher Brown, 31, and Mark Gary Brown, 30 are both accused of the attempted murder of Benn Peterson in July 2017. It is alleged Mr Peterson was bashed and set on fire on Kyogle Rd, Kunghur, near Uki, by the two men. Police will also allege the pair kidnapped Phillip Green on the same day. Aydin Christopher Brown is facing serious charges, including that of attempted murder, over a 2017 incident at Kunghur. Both men are each expected to defend one charge of causing wounding or grievous bodily harm to a person with intent to murder and taking or detaining a person in company with intent to get advantage and occasioning actual bodily harm.

Subscriber only A North Coast surfer accused of involvement in a cocaine supply ring has asked the court to ease his bail conditions. Tate Robinson, 22, is among a group of people charged in relation to the alleged supply of cocaine in Northern NSW and Southern Queensland in November. Police have alleged in court documents Jack Stuart Jones, 21, directed the activities of the group while Kai Buzic, 20, Jed Conroy, 21 and former Gold Coast Titans player Michael Gordon are also facing supply charges. Samuel Levi Collin Shaw is also before the court in Queensland. Mr Robinson s girlfriend, Mikayla Noakes, has pleaded guilty to participating in a criminal group activity and two counts of taking part in the supply of a prohibited drug and drug possession and she is due to be sentenced in March.
