Uber Hacked News Today

I'd much rather deal with all the phone call scams than this one.

Teqtivity, that helps Uber to manage data on its devices, got hacked that leaked over 77000 employees personal information such as name, work details, etc.

In July, Uber accepted responsibility for covering up the breach and agreed to cooperate with the prosecution of Sullivan over his alleged role in concealing the hacking, as part of a settlement with US prosecutors to avoid criminal charges.

Last week, an 18-year-old hacker had broken into the internal systems of Uber. Some thought it was a joke before the employees were officially told about it. Following the incident, a number of job openings were posted by Uber on LinkedIn.

Uber has now confirmed that there is no evidence that the personal data of users such as their trip history, phone numbers etc were compromised in the data breach.

Uber has reported that it is investigating a cyber security incident and also alerted the law-enforcement authorities.
