NUP agents return Shs25m allowances to Bobi

In the run up to the elections, money was a top priority for most leaders to either carry their party flag or campaign for their candidates.

NUP’s phenomenal performance in the just concluded 2021 elections lends them gravitas.  Their leader Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine, hitherto dismissed as a mere weed smoking musician from the ghettos of Kamwokya, put up a formidable performance. His team jumped many State-inspired huddles to come second in an outright shambolic election. Now Bobi Wine is not happy with NBS Television for what he called ‘relaying doctored results’ to disadvantage him after the election. Many of his overzealous supporters are now calling for a boycott of the television station and threatening its reporters.

NRM s Kirabo wins Central Youth MP seat

Daily Monitor Tuesday February 02 2021 Summary Despite NRM being unpopular in most parts of central region, the party has been winning the youth representative seat for the area in Parliament over the years. Advertisement Ms Agnes Kirabo, the flag bearer of the ruling National Resistance Movement (party), has been declared winner of the central youth parliamentary seat. Ms Kirabo, who has previously served as secretary for female affairs and auditor at the NRM Secretariat, polled 780 votes while her closest rival, Mr Ivan Bwowe, garnered 85 votes. Mr Bwowe is a former Makerere University guild president. He was followed by Micheal Katongole (Ind) 78 votes, Simon Ssenyonga(ind)49 votes, Abdel Kareem  Ziritwawula (Ind) nine votes, Javiira Kasumba (FDC) two votes, Alvin Ssemambya( Ind) one vote.

Daily Monitor Sunday January 31 2021 NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi is blocked by security operatives from accessing Kasese Town where he was scheduled to address a campaign rally on November 25 last year.PHOTO/FILE Advertisement National Unity Platform (NUP) party leader Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine, has notified the Supreme Court that he will file a petition challenging the re-election of President Museveni tomorrow, the Judiciary has confirmed.  This will be the fourth time President Museveni’s election will be challenged, the previous occasions being 2001, 2006 and 2016.  Commenting about the development, Judiciary spokesperson Jameson Karemani said: “It is true Mr Kyagulanyi’s lawyers had written to the court to allow them to file their petition today (Saturday) but the Chief Justice advised that they file it on Monday.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Petrofac will continue to supply personnel to the Unity Platform in the Central North Sea, the onshore Cruden Bay Terminal and other landline sites. The contract has also been reconfigured to include engineering and construction support. This award strengthens Petrofac’s existing relationship with INEOS FPS in the UKCS, where it already provides a Maintenance Consultancy service.
