Volvo and CATL are partnering up to breathe new life into old EV batteries through recycling. The Volvo Car Group looks to recycle old electric vehicle batteries by joining forces with the Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.

The shift towards EVs is in line with Volvos aim to become a fully electric car company by the end of the decade. The Volvo C40 Recharge is the companys first born electric car, which essentially means this is the first vehicle built to be an EV, unlike the XC40 Recharge, which was based on the XC40 SUV.
