GLOVERSVILLE A 15-year-old Gloversville juvenile was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail, charged Tuesday with second-degree murder in Saturday’s stabbing death of a Gloversville man.
City police have released the name of the murder victim William J. Guzek, 59, of 37 E. Tenth Ave. Police said he was stabbed just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Gloversville and he later died of his injuries.
A police news release indicates the suspect is a 15-year-old juvenile, without identifying the suspect’s gender or name.
On Tuesday, members of the Gloversville Police Department Detective Division arrested the juvenile and have charged him with felony second-degree murder.

GLOVERSVILLE A man was stabbed in a city warehouse Saturday night, later dying from his injuries, but the Gloversville Police Department this morning was being tight-lipped on identities of people allegedly involved.
“It’s still a very active investigation at this time,” Gloversville police Lt. Brad Schaffer said.
Schaffer said more details on the case would likely be released later today.
A city police news release issued over the weekend said that shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Gloversville Police Department officers were dispatched to 37 E. Tenth Ave., on a report of a “stabbing in progress.”

Police did not immediately release the victim’s name Sunday, or other information, including age or where he was from.
No suspect had be located as of mid-day Sunday, police said. Police, however, indicated it appeared the victim was familiar with his attacker and the crime was not random.
The incident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday at 37 East Tenth Ave. Officers were called there for a report of a stabbing in progress, police said.
Officers arrived and found the victim inside the warehouse and started aid. The Gloversville Fire Department and GAVAC ambulance arrived and took over the efforts. The victim was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the National Prescription Take Back Day, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. The Prescription Take Back Day will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, 2712 Route 29, according to a news release.
The Fulton County residents can turn in any expired or unused prescription medications.
